Land Acknowledgment
The Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Institute of Manitoba (CBTI) acknowledges that our clinics, and the communities we serve, are located on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg, Anish-Ininiwak, Dakota, Dene, Ininiwak, and Nehethowuk peoples, and within the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.
We recognize the enduring relationships that First Nations, Red River Métis, and Inuit Peoples have with these lands. We acknowledge the history and ongoing impacts of colonization, including the displacement of Indigenous Peoples and the inequities that continue to affect health and well-being today.
As a provider of psychological services, we strive to provide compassionate, culturally safe, culturally responsive, and inclusive care that honours the diverse experiences, strengths, and traditions of First Nations, Red River Métis, and Inuit Peoples.
We recognize that reconciliation is an ongoing responsibility. CBTI is committed to listening, learning, and building respectful relationships with First Nations, Red River Métis, and Inuit communities as we continue to improve the accessibility, inclusivity, and cultural responsiveness of our services.
