Dr. Vivienne C. Rowan
Ph.D., C.Psych

Dr. Vivienne C. Rowan specializes in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) for anxiety disorders and related conditions. Dr. Rowan received her master’s degree in Experimental & Applied Behaviour Analysis and Ph.D. from the University of Manitoba and specialization from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. She focuses on assessment and treatment for trauma and post traumatic stress disorder and in disability management.

Dr. Sarah Yachison
Ph.D., C.Psych

Dr. Sarah Yachison received her Ph.D. in School and Applied Child Psychology at McGill University. She has experience working in school, hospital, and community-based settings. Dr. Yachison’s compassionate and client centred stance enables her to establish strong working connections with those she serves. She adopts an eclectic therapeutic approach using techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral, Narrative, Dialectical-Behavioral, and Attachment-Based Developmental modalities. Sarah provides creative strategies to help clients effectively address areas of struggle and recognize personal strengths. She has particular interests in supporting children and adolescents with anxiety, mood, trauma, social communication, and emotion regulation concerns.

Dr. Judy Kienas
Ph.D., C.Psych

Dr. Judy Kienas is a registered psychologist with training in both Counselling Psychology (University of North Dakota) and Clinical Psychology (University of Manitoba). Her clinical interests include working with adults and couples from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy orientation that incorporates elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Emphasis is placed on helping people obtain their goals within the context of a strength-based approach. She enjoys helping people with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, obsessions and compulsions, posttraumatic stress, return to work difficulties, relationship problems, and anger management concerns.

Dr. Senn received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Concordia University in Montreal, and completed her clinical psychology residency at the University of Manitoba. Her clinical interests include working with adults with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress, depression, chronic stress, perinatal mental health concerns, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic pain, and a variety of chronic health conditions.

Dr. Diane Hiebert-Murphy

Dr. Hiebert-Murphy received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Manitoba. She completed her clinical psychology internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Her special interests include couples therapy, family therapy, parenting, and high conflict relationships.

Dr. MacKenzie received her M.Sc. degree and Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Calgary. She completed her clinical psychology residency at the University of Manitoba. Her clinical interests include helping children & adolescents with anxiety, depression, chronic health conditions, emotional regulation difficulties, and attention problems.

Dr. Kelly Malcolmson
Ph.D., C. Psych. 

Dr. Kelly Malcolmson received her Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Waterloo, where she also completed coursework in child assessment and psychopathology. She completed pre-doctoral training in schools in Waterloo and Hamilton and has worked as a School Psychologist in Toronto and Winnipeg schools for over a decade. Dr. Malcolmson has expertise in conducting psycho-educational assessments with children and adolescents to better understand the factors that are interfering with learning and engagement, as well as the strengths and strategies that can be harnessed to improve functioning and wellbeing.

Dr. Sarah Rigby received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Manitoba. She works with adults using primarily cognitive behavioural and mindfulness-based approaches. She typically works with individuals experiencing depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and substance use disorders. She has substantial training in CBT-based trauma interventions and EMDR, and she frequently works with veteran and active members of the Canadian Armed Forces, RCMP, and first responders. Dr. Rigby focuses on helping her clients to make values-aligned changes to obtain greater purpose and meaning in their lives. She also offers psychodiagnostic and some cognitive assessment services.

Dr. Julia Riddell
Ph.D., C.Psych

Dr. Julia Riddell completed her MA and PhD in Clinical-Developmental Psychology at York University and her clinical psychology residency at the University of Manitoba. She has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Schema Therapy, and a number of evidence-based treatments for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. She provides treatment for adults with a range of challenges including OCD, anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, low self-esteem and relationship difficulties. She also provides assessments for ADHD, autism, and learning disabilities. She is especially passionate about providing safe care for 2SLGBTQI+ and Indigenous individuals, as well as racialized minorities.

Dr. Katherine Kovachik received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Manitoba. She works from a primarily cognitive behavioural framework, incorporating elements of acceptance and commitment, dialectical behaviour, interpersonal, psychodynamic, and narrative therapies. She provides treatment to adults and couples. Dr. Kovachik is passionate about working with those experiencing depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and complex trauma, perinatal mental health concerns, grief and loss, gastrointestinal disorders, and relationship challenges.

Dr. Brenlee Cantor Ph.D., C Psych

Dr. Cantor received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Florida State University and completed her pre-doctoral internship within the Department of Clinical Health Psychology, Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba, where she worked with children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Cantor has worked as a School Psychologist in Winnipeg schools for over a decade, assessing and treating children and working with their families. While her interests are ongoing in the areas of child and adolescent mental health, she is particularly passionate about helping women cope with challenging emotions (anxiety, sadness, anger) that may impact overall functioning and general life satisfaction.

Dr. Christine Henriksen

Dr. Henriksen received her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Manitoba. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Harvard Medical School’s McLean Hospital and furthered her training at McLean with a post-doctoral fellowship at the renowned Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Institute. Dr. Henriksen has extensive experiencing treating adults and older adolescents with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, mood disorders, and eating disorders utilizing a combination of cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and other mindfulness-based approaches.

Dr. Corey Mackenzie

Dr. Corey Mackenzie received his M.A. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Queen’s University and completed his clinical internship at Baycrest in Toronto. He uses cognitive behavioural and mindfulness-based approaches to help younger and older adults suffering from anxiety, depression, and difficulties coping with stressful life experiences.

Dr. Julian Torres
Psy.D., C.Psych

Dr. Julian Torres received his Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D) from Memorial University of Newfoundland after completing his residency with the University of Manitoba. He works primarily using a CBT framework and drawing from Mindfulness, Psychodynamic, and Interpersonal Therapy approaches to complement an eclectic, person-centered practice. He favours experiential strategies and metaphors to help his clients develop insight and reinforce lasting change. Dr. Torres has a passion for helping children, adolescents, and adults in rural communities, and offers services in English, French, and Spanish. He provides services both virtually and in person at his consulting office in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba.

Dr. Constance Boutet
Ph.D., C.Psych

Dr. Boutet is a registered clinical psychologist and certified school psychologist. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Manitoba in 1994. Dr. Boutet completed two internships, one in counselling psychology at the University of Manitoba Student Counseling Service where she worked primarily with adults, couples and groups. Her second internship in clinical child psychology was completed at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary working with children, youth and families. Dr. Boutet has extensive experience with the school system in Manitoba in her roles as school psychologist, clinical supervisor, student services manager and psychology consultant for Manitoba Education. Her treatment interests include children and youth experiencing learning, behaviour, social-emotional and mental health difficulties and adults experiencing daily life challenges including stress management, anxiety and depression.

Cheryl Swanson has a master’s degree in psychology from York University. Her clinical interests include working with adults who experience difficulties with anxiety and mood disorders. She uses cognitive behaviour therapy and mindfulness based approaches in her practice. Jessica Zagrodney is currently working on completing her Ph.D. in clinical psychology and has completed her residency in Winnipeg and Brandon MB. Her focus of residency training included work with the military at the Operational Stress Injury Clinic (OSI) with a primary focus on trauma therapy and also at St. Boniface Hospital, Brandon Regional Hospital, and Brandon Community Mental Health where her focus was on health psychology, in-patient psychiatric work, and general mental health. Jessica also has extensive training working with adults who experience difficulty with depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive and related disorders, post-traumatic stress and trauma symptoms, chronic health concerns, borderline personality disorder and issues with motivation, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal communication.

Dr. Hogue received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from York University and completed her Clinical Psychology internship at the Student Counselling Centre at the University of Manitoba in 2022. She also received a Graduate Diploma in Health Psychology from York University concurrently with her PhD. Her clinical interests include working with adults with post-traumatic stress, anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder, body image and eating concerns, mood concerns, health anxiety, emotion regulation difficulties, and interpersonal concerns.

Ms. Shayna Pierce, M.A

Shayna Pierce received her master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Manitoba, where she is currently completing her Ph.D. She typically works with adults experiencing anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and trauma-related disorders. She holds a particular interest in supporting people whose physical health has impacted their mental health, such as those experiencing chronic health conditions. She is also passionate about supporting people experiencing mental health challenges during pregnancy or postpartum, including those who have had traumatic birth experiences or a perinatal loss.

Dr. Raoom Qureshi Dr. Raoom Qureshi Ph.D., C Psych (Candidate)

Raoom Qureshi obtained her Doctorate in Counselling Psychology in 2016 from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. She practiced as a psychologist in the UK for 5 years before moving to Abu Dhabi and Egypt where she also continued her practice. Raoom works mainly with adults and older adolescents. She has worked with a variety of complex and high-risk mental and psychological issues including personality disorders, schizophrenia, depression, trauma, abuse, psychosis, suicide ideation, anxiety, and self-harm. In therapy, Raoom uses CBT and an integrative approach, where elements of Psychodynamic, Person-centered and Dialectical Behavior Therapy are incorporated into the treatment plan.

Dr. Chantal Van Landeghem received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Manitoba. Her therapeutic orientation is primarily rooted in cognitive-behavioral and client-centered approaches, while integrating evidence-based techniques from emotion-focused, acceptance and commitment, and dialectical behaviour therapies. Dr. Van Landeghem’s specialized focus lies in supporting older adolescents and adults facing challenges related to anxiety, panic, depression, trauma, life stressors, and chronic pain. Her training and experience also extend to working with high-performers, such as professional athletes, musicians, and first responders.

Ms. Brittany Young Tenn, B.A. (Hons.)

Brittany Young Tenn received her B.A. (Hons.) in Psychology from the University of Manitoba and is currently completing a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at Adler University. Her clinical interests include working with adults experiencing difficulties with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma symptoms, emotion regulation, and interpersonal relationships. Meghan is a School Psychology Master’s student at the University of Manitoba. She received her B.A. (Hons.) in Psychology from the University of Manitoba. She has experience working with children and adolescents with a range of disorders including mood disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, anxiety disorders, and emotion dysregulation. She also has experience facilitating Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy in a group setting. Her master’s research focuses on Indigenous families’ experiences working with school psychologists to inform clinical services and access to treatment. Her clinical interests include supporting child and family mental health and wellness.

Ms. Lisa Massey has over 7 years experience as a bookkeeper and office administrator. She also has extensive customer service experience in the financial sector. She has some formal education in financial accounting and is continuing to work toward completing her accounting training. Lisa enjoys working alongside CBTI’s clinicians, values being a support in her community, and loves working with numbers. She also loves interacting with clients and is happy to answer any of their billing questions.
