Child and Adolescent Psychological Services in Winnipeg and Manitoba
At CBTI, we specialize in providing child and adolescent psychological services in Winnipeg and Manitoba. Our team includes Registered Clinical Psychologists and Clinical Associates with advanced training at the Master’s or PhD level, supervised by registered psychologists.
We are dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of children, teens, and their families through evidence-based therapy and psychological assessments.
What We Offer
Therapy for Children & Adolescents
We provide personalized treatment plans for a wide range of concerns, including:
- Anxiety and depression
- Emotional regulation and stress management
- Behavioural difficulties
- Coping with life changes and challenges
Treatment often involves parents or caregivers, especially for younger children. For adolescents, privacy and confidentiality are discussed in the first session, with parents remaining involved at key points in care.
Psychological Assessments
We offer comprehensive child and adolescent psychological assessments in Winnipeg and Manitoba to better understand strengths, challenges, and needs. Assessments may include:
- Psychoeducational assessments (learning and academic difficulties)
- ADHD assessments
- Autism spectrum assessments
- Neurodevelopmental assessments
- Emotional and behavioural evaluations
Assessments typically involve interviews, standardized testing, questionnaires, and, with your consent, input from teachers or other caregivers. Results and recommendations are shared during a feedback meeting.

Ph.D., C.Psych
Dr. Galaugher received her MSc and PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Victoria. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in Saskatoon. Dr. Galaugher provides assessment and intervention services for children, teens, and young adults. Currently not accepting new clients.

Dr. MacKenzie received her M.Sc. degree and Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Calgary. She completed her clinical psychology residency at the University of Manitoba. Dr. MacKenzie specializes in diagnostic assessment answering questions related to autism, ADHD, cognitive functioning, learning disabilities, and social-emotional difficulties. She also provides psychological intervention for children, adolescents and young adults who are struggling with a variety of mental health, neurodevelopmental, and health challenges (e.g., anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, depression, social skills, ARFID, autism, ADHD, chronic pain). Her clinical practice integrates evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral and acceptance and commitment therapies.

Dr. Sarah Yachison
Ph.D., C.Psych
Dr. Sarah Yachison is a Registered School and Clinical Child Psychologist. She received her Ph.D. in School and Applied Child Psychology at McGill University. She has experience working in school, hospital, and community settings. Dr. Yachison’s compassionate, client-centred stance enables her to establish strong working connections. She has expertise with diagnosing various conditions including Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disability, ADHD, Tourette’s Syndrome, Autism, and mood-related disorders. Therapeutically, she uses Cognitive-Behavioral, Narrative, Dialectical-Behavioral, and Attachment-Based modalities. Dr. Yachison provides creative strategies to help clients effectively address areas of struggle and recognize their strengths. At CBTI, Dr. Yachison supervises the work of several Clinical Associates.

Dr. Brenlee Cantor

Dr. Cantor received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Florida State University and completed her pre-doctoral internship within the Department of Clinical Health Psychology, Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba, where she worked with children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Cantor has worked as a School Psychologist in Winnipeg schools for over a decade, assessing and treating children and working with their families. While her interests are ongoing in the areas of child and adolescent mental health, she is particularly passionate about helping women cope with challenging emotions (anxiety, sadness, anger) that may impact overall functioning and general life satisfaction.

Dr. Kelly Malcolmson
Ph.D., C. Psych.
Dr. Kelly Malcolmson received her Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Waterloo, where she also completed coursework in child assessment and psychopathology. She completed pre-doctoral training in schools in Waterloo and Hamilton and has worked as a School Psychologist in Toronto and Winnipeg schools for over a decade. Dr. Malcolmson has expertise in conducting psycho-educational assessments with children and adolescents to better understand the factors that are interfering with learning and engagement, as well as the strengths and strategies that can be harnessed to improve functioning and wellbeing.

Mr. Robert George

Robert completed his pre-doctoral training at the Université de Saint-Boniface/University of Manitoba (B.A.-Hons; PBDE), British Columbia (M.Ed), and is currently completing his doctoral studies (Ed.D) in the Counselling – School Psychology Field at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (U of T). He has been practicing as a certified School Psychologist for over two decades across both the private and public-school systems within urban and rural contexts. Robert has extensive experience conducting bilingual psycho-educational assessments and working collaboratively with families, children and youth, treating anxiety, ADHD, emotion/mood regulation, and developing system-oriented recommendations and approaches that support diverse learning needs. Robert’s services are offered in French and English.

Lisa Grindey
M.A. in School Psychology
Lisa Grindey received her master’s degree in School Psychology at the University of Manitoba. She has been practicing in this field since 2012 and has experience working with children, adolescents and young adults. Lisa’s areas of interest include mental health and wellness, difficulties with learning and attention, social and peer dynamics and understanding the impact of trauma on the brain. She incorporates evidence-based approaches into her practice such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), aspects of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness with a focus on relationship and connection. Lisa also specializes in psychoeducational assessments and attachment-based parenting groups. She has worked in a variety of schools and collaborates with multiple agencies with a focus on a holistic, wraparound approach to intervention. Her passions lie in advocacy and the importance of belonging and connection.

Ms. Summer Sjoberg
M.A. in School Psychology
Summer completed her master’s degree in school psychology at the University of Manitoba. She has over a decade of experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in a variety of schools across Winnipeg. Her clinical interests include helping young people with anxiety and mood disorders, attention and learning challenges, and distressing experiences. Her individualized approach to therapeutic intervention incorporates various evidenced based techniques from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and behavioural therapy. As well, she specializes in psychoeducational assessments and has expertise working within multiple systems, enabling her to support families as they navigate and advocate for supports within schools and the community.

Ms. Meghan Mollons
M.A. in School Psychology
Meghan received her master’s degree in school psychology from the University of Manitoba. She specializes in psychoeducational assessments and has experience working with children and adolescents with a range of disorders including mood disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, anxiety disorders, and emotion dysregulation. She also has experience facilitating Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy in group settings. Her master’s research focuses on Indigenous families’ experiences working with school psychologists to inform clinical services and access to treatment. Her clinical interests include supporting child and family mental health and wellness.
